Rufus is mainly used to create USB installation media from Windows, Linux ISO file, which is used to install the operating system on a computer. All versions of Rufus are ISO compatible and allow the creation of a bootable USB from an ISO (.iso) image.
You can create an ISO image from a physical disc or from a set of files using a free CD burning application such as InfraRecorder or CDBurnerXP.
